A Journey to a Beautiful Partnership

Our Employment Services program helps to find job opportunities for our participants, ensuring that the position fits their abilities. Many steps are taken during this process to ensure the perfect role is found. This process involves forming partnerships with companies so that our participants have an opportunity to job shadow someone at their business. If they enjoy the work, we set up a temporary work experience for four to six weeks where they are able to try out the position, and get paid for their work through the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR).

This is how the experience started for our Employment Services consumer Austin. He started a temporary work experience at Bay View Printing Company after working with our Employment Services staff to discover what he wanted to do. Austin enjoyed working with his hands so Bay View Printing Company was a great fit for him. When his work experience was complete, Austin was hired as a permanent team member at Bay View Printing Company. Not only was he hired on as a permanent employee, but he is also earning a living wage. “When we decided to hire Austin,” said Scott Town, Account Manager, “we wanted to be clear he is a member of our team same as everyone else.”

We applaud Bay View Printing Company for its commitment to inclusion and equity.

Broadscope Disability Services has formed a beautiful relationship with Bay View Printing Company. Not only is Austin, one of our participants, working there but they designed our annual appeal artwork. We are extremely grateful for their generosity and support and are looking forward to our continued partnership.
