An Event of Community & Empowerment: Joe’s Run, Walk & Roll 2024

On September 7, 2024, the 28th Annual Joe’s Run, Walk & Roll once again brought our supporters together for a fantastic morning of fitness, inclusion, and celebration.  We headed to a new location this year of Hoyt Park, which boasted many trees for shade, a flat race route and lots of picnic tables. The support of cheering viewers and a high five from Roscoe of the Milwaukee Admirals made this event one you didn’t want to miss.

There were 248 participants of all abilities who took part in the competitive 5K run, the 3K fun walk/roll, or the 1K kids’ race, creating an uplifting atmosphere where everyone felt empowered to push their limits and have fun.

From the moment participants arrived, the energy was electric. We were thrilled to see such a diverse group of runners, walkers, and rollers, each united by the common goal of supporting Broadscope Disability Services. With a fully accessible route, the event was a true reflection of inclusivity, ensuring that everyone could join in on the fun.

After crossing the finish line, attendees were treated to a Jimmy John’s sandwich, a Chillwaukee popsicle, photo booth pictures by Festive Foto, raffles, a TosaFest drink coupon and the popular SC Johnson product table.

We want to extend a huge thank you to all those who participated in this event.

Wow, what a wonderful night! Thank you to everyone who made it out to the 42nd Taste of Milwaukee earlier this month. We moved to a new venue this year, at the Marcus Performing Arts Center, which was a beautiful space overlooking the Milwaukee River.

Every year, we enjoy being able to celebrate Broadscope and the Milwaukee community at Taste of Milwaukee. Fourteen local restaurants joined us to show why Milwaukee’s food scene is top tier. Saffron – Modern Indian Dining took home the Best Dish Award for their dish Katsu Bao Bun with tempura chicken, Asian slaw and spicy aioli. We enjoyed entertainment by our emcee, Symone Woolridge, and the Donna Woodall Group. Ryan Nolan, a long-time Broadscope client, was honored with an award for his dedication to his jobs over the years and appreciate hearing from his family about their experiences with Broadscope.

After an amazing night with our equally amazing supporters, we are proud to announce that Broadscope raised nearly $30,000. Everything that Broadscope raised during Taste of Milwaukee goes right into our three programs that help individuals with disabilities and their families- Independent Living, Employment Services and Respite Care Coordination.

Thank you again to all of our sponsors and supporters. We can’t wait to see everyone again for Taste of Milwaukee in March 2025!
